"Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Ecclesiastes 4:12
Within two months
Dick will have performed four weddings! The stacks of gifts and cards will
represent thousands of dollars spent to help the happy couple start their new
life together.
However, Dick will have already
shared with them the most priceless gift any couple could receive...
the presence of Jesus with them day by day. Whether they accept the gift or not is up to the individuals. But Dick and I know the truth of Ecclesiastes 4:12 and pray that each couple will forge a “cord of three strands” with Jesus.

A Cord of
Three Strands
by Pam Williams
by Pam Williams
We wandered
life as “you” and “me”
Until our
paths entwined.
Then whirled
together day by day,
Spoke more of
“ours” than “mine”.
Though
wrapped together, holding fast,
We were not
one, but two.
Without three
strands a cord unwinds—
Reverts to
“me” and “you”.
When we
invited Jesus in,
He interlaced
our lives
To form a strong,
supportive bond
That reassures
and thrives.
A cord
of three will hold throughout
The
challenges we face.
With
Jesus clasping hands with ours
We’re
sheltered by God’s grace.
Blessings!
