. . . a friend

The face of a friend brightens up when we meet.
The hand of a friend waves hello on the street.
The home of a friend is a welcoming place.
The smile of a friend will reflect on our face.

The thoughts of a friend often call us to mind.
The pen of a friend writes a note, sweet and kind.
The card of a friend travels over the miles.
The words of a friend offer Truth for life’s trials.

The feet of a friend hurry straight to our door
The tears of a friend flow, not knowing what for.
The eyes of a friend see the hurts we can’t shrug.
The arms of a friend wrap us tight in a hug.

The heart of a friend breaks when troubles we bear;
The prayers of a friend take them to Him who cares.
The voice of a friend is a comfort to hear.
The love of a friend is a treasure held dear.

Who do you call friend? God has blessed me through the arms, prayers, voices, and love of persons I am privileged to call “Friend”. How truly awesome it was when I read that Jesus considers us His friends! Doesn’t he fit the description perfectly?

“Christ changed us from enemies into God’s friends
and gave us the task of making others his friends also.”
2 Corinthians 5:18

“I have called you friends.”
John 15:15

Blessings!
