Amy Grant sang a song called “We Believe in God”. It
is one of my favorites and never fails to bring me to tears. There is so much
truth in the words:
“We believe in God, and we all need Jesus,
'Cause life is hard, and it might not get easier.
But don't be afraid to know who you are. Don't be afraid to
show it.
If you believe in God, if you say you need Jesus,
He'll be where you are, and He never will leave you.
Sing with me now words that are true, so all in this place can know it
[Chorus] We believe in God, and we all need Jesus. We believe in God, and we all need Jesus. We believe in God, and we all need Jesus.
Life IS hard, and unpredictable, and scary at times! We have all faced challenges that try our faith and make us wonder “Where is God?” We need to encourage one another with the truths found in God’s Word, in hymns, and in spiritual songs.” (Ephesians 5:19-20)
Scripture after scripture promises us that God IS with us! Deuteronomy 31:8 assures us that “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
James 4:8 encourages us to come near to God, and He will come near to us. 2 Chronicles 16:9 tells us that “The Lord keeps close watch over the whole world, to give strength to those committed to Him with all their hearts.”
We can also encourage one another by recommending hymns and scripture songs that affirm our faith and trust in Jesus! From the old favorite, “I Come to the Garden Alone” to Amy Grant’s “We Believe in God” to Michael Bethany’s “Walk With You”, to Terrian’s “Honestly, We Just Need Jesus!”, there are so many that touch hearts and give hope. Is there someone you know who needs uplifted?
